RESIDENCE COUNSELOR- MHA in Ulster County, Inc. has a FT (37.5 hours per week) position available in a residential program working with adults recovering from mental illness who may also have substance abuse problems. Residence Counselors provide case management services, teach life skills, and prepare individuals with mental illness and/or substance abuse issues to live more independently in the community. Position schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, 1:00 p.m.-9p.m. Interested candidates must have a high school diploma and a clean, valid NYS driver’s license. Prior experience with this population is a plus.
RECREATION COUNSELOR MHA in Ulster County seeks a recreation counselor to assist in implementing a rehabilitative program for adults with psychiatric disabilities and adults with MRDD. Both programs include opportunities for socialization, education, daily living skills, recreation and advocacy activities. Bachelor’s degree in a human service field or an Associate’s degree with three years experience or high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years experience in human services required. Must obtain a clean, valid NYS driver’s license and have been driving for at least 6 years. Knowledge of Ulster County & surrounding counties a plus. FT position (35 hours per week). Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT-HARBOUR PROGRAM FT (37.5 hours /week) position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Program Director and staff for a therapeutic children’s program. Skills required in data entry, word processing, taking minutes, developing and maintaining systems, typing and statistical reporting and recordkeeping. Strong computer skills in Word, Excel and Publisher are essential. Associates degree in a business related field & two years relevant work experience or four years of relevant experience required.
PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER FT position providing treatment services to children and adults with mental illness and addictive conditions at the Otsego County Mental Health Clinic and Forensic Program. Additionally, this person will work closely with the Otsego County Community Services Director with the implementation of assisted outpatient treatment under Kendra’s Law. Professional and supportive work environment. Requires NY License as a Nurse Practitioner with 1-year post license experience in mental health field. Clean, valid NYS driver’s license.
YOUTH WORKER FOR RESPITE PROGRAM Several PT positions available working one on one with children in Ulster County. Workers will provide care to children who have special emotional, behavioral and social needs. Workers will provide the families with respite by involving the children in recreational activities. Position hours are available from 2 hours -9.5 hours per week depending on mutually agreed schedule. Candidates need experience in working with children, knowledge of issues that children confront and flexibility. Paid training and on-going supervision. Position requires a clean, valid NYS driver’s license.
