On Friday and Saturday nights, the Youth Booth staff ensures a casual and non-threatening environment where young people can feel comfortable talking with a nonjudgmental and friendly adult about whatever is on their minds.
Staff members are available to listen to your troubles, but you don't have to have a concern to come hang out at the Youth Booth.
The Youth Booth is also a place for young people to come and enjoy themselves! All youth are welcome to join in on games, open conversations and other activities.
The Youth Booth is a caring community that supports youth while it serves as a conduit to other community resources. Staff can assist youth in obtaining information and services relevant to their needs.
Parents, as well as youth, have come to obtain reliable information regarding community services for youth and/or educational materials pertaining to specific topics, such as drugs and alcohol, motor vehicle information, sexuality, mental health issues, AIDS, recreation, preparation for employment, job referraland substance abuse intervention. (please see our web pages of informative Links & Phone #s for Parents and Teens)
Youth Booth Staff are trained employees of Mental Health Association in Ulster County, Inc.
This free service for youth is a project of MHA in Ulster County, Inc., a United Way agency.
We would be pleased to provide information to those interested in learning about developing a similar program in their community. Please call the Youth Booth Coordinator with any questions at (845) 336-4747 ext. 170.
