Support Groups at MHA

The Wellness Services Department offers a series of trainings and support groups to program participants, their family members and the general public. Groups are run either by Wellness Services staff or contracted professionally qualified facilitators. All groups are FREE and open to the public.

Informed Consent for Zoom
In order to attend online Virtual sessions, please return the Informed Consent for Zoom form (signed) signature page to wellnessinfo@mhainulster.com. You may also come to the Clifford Beers Center, 300 Aaron Ct. Kingston, in person to sign or turn it in to the Wellness Department.

All groups are located at 300 Aaron Court, Kingston, NY 12401 (unless otherwise noted location change!)

Thrivin’ Not Just Survivin’
An interactive group focusing on building and fostering resiliency to overcome trauma.
Mondays, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Empowering Parents - Hybrid
A support group to support caregivers of children who are having social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
2nd Mondays of the month, offered at two different times: 11:30 am -12:30 pm & 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Mindful Eating D/O Support - Hybrid
This group offers education & support for individuals who identify as having any kind of eating disorder.
Registration is required.
Mondays, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Women's: Balance & Bloom
Empowerment groups focused on building confidence, leadership, and community for women from diverse backgrounds.
2nd Wednesdays 1:00-2:00 pm

OPWDD Caregiver Circle
A support group for caregivers of those who have an OPWDD diagnosis, to connect with peers and share experiences.
3rd Wednesdays 5:00-6:00 pm

Hope And Healing
A support group for those working through grief & loss.
Thursdays, 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Ready, Steady, Go! - Hybrid
Join others who are diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease to share feelings and learn ways to cope with PD’s challenges.
Thursdays, 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Anxiety & Depression
A support group for those struggling with anxiety and/or depression.
Fridays 1:30-2:30 pm

Anger Management- 10-Week Sessions
A 10-week course. Registration is required.
Women’s Group, Thursdays, 4:00 pm - 5:45 pm
Men's Group, Thursdays, 6:00 pm- 7:45 pm

Positive Discipline - Parenting Course- Dates and Times TBD
Teaches parents communication strategies to foster cooperation, self-awareness, self-discipline, responsibility, and problem-solving skills in children, aiming to strengthen the family unit.
