Mental Health Association in Ulster County, Inc. Announces New CEO

The Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association in Ulster County, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Juliann Curabba, LCSW, MSED as the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer. Curabba, who most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Maryvale in California, a $25 million agency that provides service to 1100 clients per year, will succeed Ellen Pendegar, MS, RN upon her retirement on November 6th.

“After a comprehensive search process the board is pleased to have selected Juliann Curabba. Juliann brings over 15 years of senior level leadership experience as a nonprofit executive. We feel she has all the tools to lead us forward.” said James F. Shaughnessy, Jr., MHA Board President.

At Maryvale, Juliann was responsible for the operational and fiscal oversight to over 250 staff and six direct reports at two locations: VP/Early Education, VP/Residential and managed care Mental Health Community Based Preventive and School Based Services, Director of Contract Performance, Quality Improvement Director, VP/IT, Program Manager/Substance Abuse and Wellness Programs and oversight for Billing Manager, Health Services.
