MHA in Ulster County, Inc. Presents Scholarships

Shawn Doyle, Executive Director of the Mental Health Association in Ulster County Inc. (MHA) presented the 2025 Dr. Edward Shea Memorial Scholarships at the MHA offices in Kingston.

The Dr. Shea Scholarships for $1,000.00 each are presented every other year to exceptional students from Ulster County who are pursuing a degree in the Mental Health field.

Mariah Odari of New Paltz, who just graduated from New Paltz High School, will be attending University at Albany this Fall with the goal of starting the Bachelor/Masters social work program and eventually becoming an LCSW.

Makayla Leon of Hurley, and 2025 Kingston High School Graduate will be attending SUNY New Paltz in the fall.  Makayla will be studying psychology with the goal of continuing to graduate school and becoming a psychologist.
